Background & previous roles

Professor Tahir Akhtar is a distinguished "Doctorpreneur," blending expertise in medicine, business, and leadership. He is a Professor of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at New Vision University, Tbilisi, Georgia, and a former NHS Clinical Director at Basildon & Thurrock University Hospital, England. He founded Adam Holdings in 1998 in London and went on to incorporate ADAM Global, described as the world's first multidisciplinary professional network. Other founding roles include the UK Chapter of CEO Clubs Network Worldwide. His past appointments include Member of the NHS East of England Clinical Senate Assembly, Member of the International Advisory Board of African Leadership Magazine, and Judge on the Bill Clinton Foundation Global Innovation Prize (Dubai). Awards include the World Peace and Prosperity Award (House of Lords, 2017), Outstanding Medical Entrepreneur Award (House of Commons, 2018), Fellow of the Institute of Directors (London, 2018), Fellowship of Hult Business School (2011), and Pride of Performance Award (Los Angeles, 2011).

Current Activity

Founding Chairman of ADAM Global Network, now with a presence in over 200 locations across 80+ countries. He continues as Professor at New Vision University and is Chairman of the Academic Board there. He is a member of the Africa Leadership Organisation Board and was the inaugurating speaker at the 11th Annual ADAM Global International Business Forum (IBF) held in Dubai in October 2025.
