CPA Laban Chege is an “Accountant by Choice”. Founder and Managing Partner at Labchey Consulting, Laban is a Certified Public Accountant with over 30 years of global experience in the field of Audit, Tax and Corporate Finance. He holds Masters of Business Administration in Strategic Management. Laban has also been an Audit Consultant with Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), covering Africa Region, which has seen him travel to almost all Countries of African Continent. Before setting up Labchey; Laban worked with APA/Apollo group as the Chief Finance Officer and was a key player in the successful merger of Apollo and Pan Africa that gave birth to APA Insurance in 2004. He earlier worked with EABS Group (now partly Ecobank) for four years. He is long standing member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Insurance Institute of Kenya and Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), among others, whose contributions include serving in various committees and writing articles in their journals. Laban sits in Boards of diverse companies in advisory capacities and representing investors. More importantly, Laban is a member and one the Director Consultants of the world’s leading Business Network International (BNI) and in the Leadership Team of its Sunrise Chapter in Nairobi, Kenya. A born again Christian, Laban is married to Monicah and blessed with four children, three boys and one girl.
