Biography
Dr. G S Anil Kumar is a consultant anesthetist at Basildon and Thurrock University NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Kumar has immense experience practicing anesthesia across a wide range of surgical specialties and is well versed in dealing with complex surgical procedures. Dr. Kumar is the CEO of Harley Street Medical Consultant (HSMC), and also of Essex Medical Society (EMS). He is also the Joint Medical Director of Queen Anne Street Essex Medical Group (QASTEM) - a joint venture between HSMC and QAMC. Dr. Kumar has held many senior management positions in the NHS and has also served in a critical role as the Clinical Services Unit (CSU) Lead for Anaesthesia, Critical Care Medicine, Pain management, Theatres, Day Surgery Unit, and SSD. He was awarded the Clinical Excellence Award for his work as the CSU Lead. He has also served as the Vice Chairman of the Consultant Staff Committee at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals. Moreover, Dr. Kumar has been very closely involved in teaching and training. He was also a Royal College Tutor and a Unit Training Director at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals. He was recognized by the British Medical Association for publishing a book that serves as a comprehensive guide to the qualifying exams for the Fellowship of Royal College of Anaesthesia. The book turned out to be a best seller. He has also authored a few chapters in a textbook on Critical Care Medicine printed by Cambridge University Press and has also published several articles in peer-reviewed journals.

We have a strong educational program and have published books through the EMS, and our educational program continues to grow. We aim to help and advise colleagues and friends where they face difficulties professionally, to act as a guide and source of strength through practical experience.
