Biography

Francesca O. dela Cruz- Francesca earned her Juris Doctor - Master in Business Administration Double Degree Program from the De La Salle University - Far Eastern University, with electives in International Intellectual Property Law & International Negotiations from Syracuse University. Francesca has been in tax and commercial law practice for 10 years in the top auditing and law firm in the Philippines. She worked as an associate of Salvador and Associates, a member of Taxand, as manager of Sycip, Gorres & Velayo Co, a member practice of Ernst and Young, and as Court Attorney at the Court of Tax Appeals. She has handled tax litigation cases before the Court of Tax Appeals and the Supreme Court, and as a young associate then, won a tax refund case before the Supreme Court on 2010, which remains to be a landmark case for tax practitioners. She is also highly experienced in handling and successfully reducing tax assessments, including the drafting of position papers, supplemental position papers, protests and tax reconciliation of Working Papers, with the BIR to In addition to handling tax assessments on behalf of clients before the BIR Examiners, she drafted tax queries and opinions on estate planning for prominent businessmen and on corporate law, such as nationality restrictions, Retail Trade Act, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority and estate planning.
