Biography
John has over 25 years experience providing professional services including audit and assurance, tax and consulting. Audit: John has expert knowledge of various reporting frameworks including IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP and has hands on experience applying International Standards on Auditing (ISA) and the Public Company Accounting and Oversight Board auditing standards of the US (PCAOB). John also possesses strong experience conducting integrated audits including SOX work having been involved with auditing US and SEC registrants/or their subsidiaries. John has provided audit services to many companies in Uganda, the United Kingdom, Tanzania and Bermuda in the sectors of banking, insurance & reinsurance, manufacturing, retail and trading, tourism & hospitality and public sector/NGO/not for profit organizations. Tax: John has extensive experience providing tax and related services including income tax compliance services, tax health audits, tax advisory and planning, tax incentives, VAT refund and handling Uganda Revenue Authority Audits. Consulting: John has been involved in numerous transaction services, particularly financial due-diligence services. He is also an expert providing risk management and internal audit services. He is a member of the following:- Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). Prior to joining RSM, John worked at a leading big 4 firm for over 12 years.
