Bio

Ms. Victoria Alonge is a Partner and the Practice Head of SimmonsCooper Partners. She is a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association, a Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Taxation Nigeria, an Arbitrator and a Certified Mediator. She has over twenty-eight years of experience in representing and advising government parastatals alongside several multinationals. Her areas of specialization include: Labour Law, Family Law, Private and property law, Banking & Insurance Law, Commercial law, Public Interest Law, Tax and Arbitration. Victoria’s expert trial and appellate skill in some of the most complex dispute situation has been seen in representation before the Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court and the ECOWAS Court of Justice. As a compulsive reader, Victoria’s incisive opinions on commercial litigation issues have been demonstrated in a number of review and advisory engagements. For instance, she was appointed a member of a special committee set up by His Excellency the Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, to review and advice on the assets of the Federal Government in Lagos State. With inputs from Ms. Alonge and a few others, the committee was able to successfully complete its mandate, enabling the State Government identify ways in which the state could improve the socio-economic wellbeing of residents of Lagos state. Before joining the firm of SimmonsCooper Partner as Practice Head, Victoria worked as the State Counsel in the Lagos State Ministry of Justice.
